Pittsburgh Police are “actively investigating” a shooting involving two men on the 3200-block of Ward Street around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night.

One man died on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds while paramedics transported the other to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. According to Pittsburgh Police spokesperson Sonya Toler, the man was in stable condition as of Wednesday night.

The cause of the shooting is under investigation, Toler said.

Pitt police were first on the scene but have no further involvement in the case, University spokesman John Fedele said.

The police have not released the victims’ names, but Toler said they were not Pitt students.

As of Thursday night, the police have not made any arrests, Toler said.
