Pitt senior offensive lineman Lucas Nix has been charged with three summary offenses —… Pitt senior offensive lineman Lucas Nix has been charged with three summary offenses — criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness — from an incident that took place on Dec. 26.

Interim head coach Keith Patterson issued a statement on Thursday night saying that he had just been informed of the incident.

“Before any determination is made on his status for Saturday’s bowl game, I want to make sure I have all the necessary information about the occurrence to make the right decision,” Patterson said. “Lucas was not arrested and just learned of these summary charges tonight.”

Nix played in six games during his true freshman season before starting all 13 games as a sophomore. He started 12 of 13 games as a junior and began his senior season at right guard before injuring his knee in Pitt’s Sept. 29 win over South Florida.

He didn’t return until the Panthers’ loss to West Virginia on Nov. 25.

The Panthers will play Southern Methodist University in the BBVA Compass Bowl on Saturday.
