Pitt spokeswoman Patricia Lomando White said that Facilities Management will finish fixing internal damage before commencement at the beginning of May.

She said that Cost Corp. will repair damage to the facade of the building where an SUV hit it on Thursday.

The building was declared safe Thursday night, and classes have continued to take place there. White said that the crash has not had any effects on classes or events in the building, including a lecture that was scheduled for Monday night.

The vehicle apparently accelerated suddenly when leaving the Towers garage, drove across Forbes Avenue and hit the Barco Law Building.

The driver was taken to UPMC Hospital, and her condition was not made public by police.
