The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a wind and hazardous weather outlook… The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a wind and hazardous weather outlook advisory until midnight.

According to the National Weather Service, a wind advisory means residents can expect winds up to 45 mph, although it predicts gusts that could reach 50 mph.

The strong winds could affect driving conditions, and the National Weather Service advised drivers to take extra caution.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are also slated to appear throughout the evening.

These advisories follow a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warning that were issued and ended earlier this evening.

During the tornado watch, Pittsburgh experienced a squall line, which is a line of showers or thunderstorms that contain hefty winds.  Brad Rehak, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, said squall lines typically last around 15 minutes and are then followed by rain.
