Who’s On Your Roster? | The NBA’s hottest starting five

Building the perfect NBA roster is more than just skill — it’s about style, swagger and good looks. This Valentine’s Day, we’re assembling the most elite starting five based on these players’ game on and off the court.

Point Guard: Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies)

Starting strong, we have Ja Morant as our point guard. After getting drafted second overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, Morant wasted no time becoming essentially a human highlight reel. This former Rookie of the Year dunks on seven-footers like it’s his love language.

Everyone knows Morant has made a questionable decisions off the court, and with all of his social media mishaps, this guard has given his PR team more fast breaks than the Grizzlies. That said, who doesn’t love a redemption arc? In our dream world, these would not have happened, Ja Morant is a shoo-in for this dream team.

Shooting Guard: Jared McCain (Philadelphia 76ers)

Jared McCain is new to the association, but he’s already breaking hearts in the City of Brotherly Love. If Valentine’s Day had a Rookie of the Year, McCain would take the title. This Duke standout brings a lethal jumper, an elite social media presence and a nail polish collection that puts most college girls’ to shame.

His TikTok covers of Drake songs confirm what we already know — McCain is a certified loverboy. McCain plays with the confidence of a 10-year vet and the swagger of a rookie, making him the type of player who could easily drop 30 points off of the bench and then have a mani-pedi date night right afterward.

Power Forward: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)

They don’t call him the “Greek Freak” for nothing. Giannis Antetokounmpo isn’t just a two-time MVP — he’s a seven-foot force of nature with a Euro step so smooth it should come with a passport stamp. But off the court? Antetokounmpo is effortlessly funny, casually dropping one-liners in pressers and interviews like he has a secret stand-up comedy career on the side.

And honestly, Antetokounmpo would instantly upgrade your vacation game. The fact that he could easily whisk you away to Greece for yacht tours around Mykonos is definitely a bonus. Giannis brings skills, charm and international appeal to this stacked starting 5.

Small Forward: Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves)

On the court, Edwards, nicknamed Ant-Man, plays like he’s the star in a Marvel movie, soaring for dunks and hitting step-backs like it’s nobody’s business. Not to mention that he’s got an acting career on the side from his big-screen debut in “Hustle” and that he could probably introduce you to Adam Sandler if you asked.

Whether he’s charming reporters in postgame interviews or casually reminding the world that he could’ve gone pro in football too — because of course he could — Edwards is the definition of effortlessly cool. And how could we forget all the awards he’s collected over the years? An All-Star, BET Sportsman of the Year and three-time NBA Fan Favorite Award winner, Edwards is impossible to guard and impossible not to love.

Center: Nic Claxton (Brooklyn Nets)

Nic Claxton has held it down for the Brooklyn Nets for a while now, making life miserable for any opposing player who dares enter the paint with him on the floor. Before becoming Brooklyn’s go-to rim protector, Claxton dominated in Athens, Georgia, as a Bulldog for two seasons.

And on Valentine’s Day, what’s better than a guy who can guard your heart as well as he guards the rim? Plus, any player who can thrive on the chaos of this Nets team is built for anything.
