John Cooper, dean of the school of Arts and Sciences, sent an e-mail to department heads and administrators this afternoon canceling all classes on the Oakland campus that begin at or after 4 p.m. next Thursday due to “traffic concerns” related to the G-20 Summit. The University will return to a normal schedule Friday, Cooper said.

President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, will host a working dinner with other heads of state at Phipps Conservatory Thursday night.

The Frick Fine Arts Building will close at the end of the building’s last evening class on Wednesday and reopen at 7 a.m. Friday because of security restrictions related to the Obamas’ dinner.
