The…The Stills Thursday, March 6 Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. Diesel Club Lounge 1601 East Carson St., South Side $12 advance, $15 at the door 412-431-8800
The Stills will be performing its brand of garage-band rock live this Thursday night at the Diesel Club Lounge in the South Side.
The Stills’ band members, Tim Fletcher, Dave Hamelin, Liam O’Neil, Olivier Corbeil and Julien Blais, go on at 7 p.m. with opening band Wild Light, an indie pop band from New Hampshire.
The Stills came into the mainstream in the early 2000s and was a part of the garage-rock revival movement. Though emerging out of Montreal, The Stills was clearly influenced by Brooklyn bands like The Strokes.
After The Stills released its critically acclaimed first album, Logic Will Break Your Heart, in 2003, guitarist Greg Paquet left the band to finish his degree. As a result, The Stills’ second album, Without Feathers, released in 2006, had a dramatically different sound. The Stills’ show this week will be promoting its third album, which it finished recording last week. Though the album’s name has not yet been released, it is scheduled to drop May 27.
The Stills will stop in Pittsburgh after performing a show Wednesday in Philadelphia before leaving for a performance in Hoboken, N.J., on Friday.
Diesel’s doors will open at 6 p.m. tomorrow. The show is open to all ages with tickets on sale for $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
