Pitt extended its winning streak to three games and improved its record to 13-3-1. The teams were scheduled to play two more on Sunday, but the games were postponed with no makeup date scheduled.

Pitt 5, Niagara 4

Chris Papst went 3 for 4 with two doubles, including the game winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh, and P.J. Hiser hit a three-run homer off Steve Venerus to tie the game at four in the sixth, to lead the Panthers to their 12th win of the season.

Scott Schultz pitched seven innings for the win, striking out eight and allowing four runs on seven hits. Venerus picked up the loss for Niagara, who fell to 2-11 on the season.

After trailing for the entire game, Pitt began its rally in the sixth inning. Niagara starter Ryan Pranger faced three batters in the inning and was unable to record an out. Hiser, who was pinch-hitting for Stuart Rykacoski, greeted Venerus with his game-tying home run.
