Police seek assailant in Oakland after Tuesday assault

Pitt police are seeking a man who allegedly assaulted a Pitt student in Oakland Tuesday afternoon.

The student, who lives on the 300 block of McKee Place, told police she was sexually assaulted in her residence after she accepted help from an unknown Hispanic man. She reported the incident to police around 1 p.m. Tuesday, alleging the man had touched her inappropriately against her will.

The woman described the man to police as between 25 and 30-years-old, approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall and 170 pounds, with medium length wavy black hair. At the time of the alleged assault, the man was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.

Police have not yet identified a suspect and Pitt spokesperson John Fedele said the investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call Pitt police at 412-624-2121.
