UPDATE: Police seek suspect in Dawson Street shooting

Pittsburgh police are investigating a shooting in Oakland over the weekend after an unnamed suspect shot a pizza delivery man on the job.

Police will not release the victim’s name, but a public safety release said the 58-year-old man was delivering pizza to the 3000 block of Dawson Street in South Oakland at 10:05 p.m. on Sunday. While walking to his car, the man heard three gunshots and “realized he was shot in the torso,” the release said.

Emily Schaffer, a spokesperson for the Pittsburgh police, said paramedics transported the man to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police think the suspect is a black male, aged 18 to 20 years old and approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. He may have been wearing dark clothes, according to the release.

Schaffer said police are not releasing details about the case at this time, including information about possible suspects.
