With National Signing Day in the books and the Panthers 15 days away from spring camp, now is a good time to evaluate the current state of Pitt’s football team.

Pitt football hires Mark Whipple as next offensive coordinator

Despite out-gaining its opponent in nearly every facet of the game, the Pitt football team fell to Stanford, 14-13, in the Hyundai Sun Bowl Monday afternoon, thus failing to crack .500 for the second straight season.

Pitt Football is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. After coming up just short of No. 3 Notre Dame and then getting blown out by unranked Miami, no one is sure what to expect from the Panthers this weekend.

While Pitt’s 24-3 loss against Miami on Saturday was far from good, the implications weren’t too bad. Aside from snapping its four game win streak, the loss will likely drop them from the top 25 rankings and give them a lesser bowl game. But Pitt will still be playing in the ACC Championship on Saturday.
