Star safety Ford opts out of remaining 2020 football games

All-American candidate and starting safety for Pitt football’s stout defense, junior Paris Ford, has opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season, head coach Pat Narduzzi confirmed Monday afternoon.
Jaylen Twyman has received All-American honors and is a candidate for the Outland and Nagurski trophies.

A trio of Pitt football defenders — redshirt junior safety Paris Ford, redshirt junior defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman and senior defensive end Patrick Jones II — were named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watchlist Monday.
With three sacks, Pitt’s front seven put up the most tackles behind the line on Duke quarterback Quentin Harris for the season during Saturday’s 33-30 victory over the Blue Devils.
