How the Office of Institutional Engagement and Well-Being will differ from its predecessor

This summer, the University of Pittsburgh integrated its new Office of Institutional Engagement and Well-Being, which replaced the previous Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Since the OIEW’s launch, the University reported that many of the office’s responsibilities are similar to the former OEDI.

Pitt axes DEI Office, establishes new Office of Institutional Engagement and Well-being

On July 1, Chancellor Joan Gabel and Clyde Pickett announced Pitt has replaced its Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion with the Office of Institutional Engagement and Well-being. This marks the first tangible change Pitt made to comply with President Trump’s guidelines against diversity, equity, and inclusion.
