Former Pitt strength coach suing over alleged age, race discrimination

Former Pitt strength and conditioning coach Tim Beltz filed a civil lawsuit Friday against the University of Pittsburgh for alleged age and race discrimination, according to court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and originally obtained by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Panthers basketball faces uphill battle at No. 1 Louisville

Pitt men’s basketball is riding a five-game win streak, but the team will face an uphill challenge on its way to six-straight when it travels to Louisville for a date with the No. 1 Cardinals.

The NCAA revealed its official bracket Sunday night for the NCAA Volleyball Tournament and Pitt (29-1 overall, 18-0 ACC) — despite finishing the regular season with a No. 2 ranking in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll — earned a No. 6 overall seed by the selection committee.

Panthers pound pair of Wildcat squads for Ft. Myers Tip-Off title

The Panthers were seeing purple all week long when they travelled south to Ft. Myers, Florida for the Fort Myers Tip-Off Tournament this week. Pitt (6-2 overall, 1-0 ACC) sneaked past Kansas State (5-1 overall, 0-0 Big 12) for a 63-59 win on Monday before downing Northwestern (3-3 overall, 0-0 Big 10) in the Championship game on Wednesday.
