Bill Clinton to visit Pitt-Johnstown

Former president Bill Clinton will visit Pitt-Johnstown’s campus Wednesday afternoon.

According to Brandon Hanson, an organizer for Hillary for America, Clinton will speak at the Campus Conference Center at 450 Schoolhouse Rd. at 2:15 p.m. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. The former president is coming as part of his wife and presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency.

Bill Clinton is visiting two weeks after Hillary Clinton hosted a rally on Carnegie Mellon University’s campus on April 6. At CMU, Hillary outlined some of her plans to invest in infrastructure, fight climate change and make education, from pre-kindergarten to to college, more affordable for students.

At time of publication, Hillary Clinton was leading fellow Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in the polls with 1,887 delegates. A Democratic presidential candidate needs 2,383 delegates to win the nomination. Bill Clinton’s visit comes less than a week before the Pennsylvania primary election on April 26.
