An unidentified man was fatally shot several times in a South Oakland home late Tuesday night.
Around 10:15 p.m. on April 26, Pittsburgh Police responded to a report of a home invasion on the 3200 block of Gorman Way, between Bates Street and Juliet Street, where they found a deceased man in the doorway of the house. Three unknown people shot the man after he opened the door, according to a release. Police do not yet know the motive behind the shooting.
Police spokesperson Sonya Toler said she can not yet release any information about the victim because of Pittsburgh police policy and does not have any information about the suspects, who fled the scene before the police arrived.
According to the report, a woman and two children were also in the house at the time of the shooting but were not harmed.
The Violent Crime Unit is leading an investigation.
