A car and a Port Authority bus collided on Bigelow Boulevard shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
According to Chris Ballina, a PAT Road Operations Supervisor who was on the scene, the woman driving the car said she didn’t see the bus – a Route 83 Bedford Hill bus – coming as she went to turn into a parking space in front of the Cathedral of Learning.
“She went to turn right into the parking spot and they connected right there,” Ballina said.
Two EMS vehicles and a firetruck were dispatched to Bigelow Boulevard at 12:53 p.m., according to a representative from Allegheny County dispatch.
Ballina said one person on the bus complained of rib pain and was transferred to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. The driver of the vehicle and of the bus were both not injured.
According to a Pitt police representative, another bus rider was injured but refused EMS.
