Police respond to report of sexual assault on Semple Street

On Sunday morning, Pitt police responded to a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted.

University of Pittsburgh police and city police responded to a call on the 300 block of Semple Street from a woman who said a man had sexually assaulted her at about 4 a.m. Sunday morning. Police said in a crime alert that the assault occurred between the hours of 3 and 4 a.m.

According to the report, the suspect is a black male who is about 5-foot-8 and has full sleeve tattoos.

No other details about the assault were immediately available. Police ask that anyone with information about the assault contact Pitt police at 412-624-2121 or Pittsburgh police at 911.
