Jason Weinberg, a junior computer science major, said he voted for Hillary Clinton even though she wasn’t his favorite candidate.

“My favorite candidate is Jill Stein, but I voted for Hillary because of how close the election is here,” Weinberg said. “Since it’s a swing state, it’s too close.”

Weinberg said he is still hoping that Stein receives the minimum of five percent of the vote so that the Green party can get federal funding for the next election. Although he said Stein has less a “political baggage” and more left-leaning policies than Clinton, he supports Clinton’s “progressive” ideals involving education and health care expansion.

“They’re all just issues that seem to be no-brainers to me, [things] that should be done,” Weinberg said.
