AD’s Pittsburgh Cafe to open Saturday at 5 p.m.

AD’s Pittsburgh Cafe, located on Meyran Avenue, will open on Saturday at 5 p.m., according to Aaron Donald’s brother and co-manager, Archie Donald.

Former Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald announced the restaurant and bar’s opening on Dec. 6 via his Twitter account, but had not specified a date.

AD’s Pittsburgh Cafe will replace Winghart’s which occupied the same location. Donald said in December that his cafe drew inspiration from the former Pittsburgh Cafe, which closed in the same location in 2012.

Donald finished his senior season at Pitt with 11 sacks and four forced fumbles, earning First-Team All-American honors.

The St. Louis Rams selected Donald with the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after his first professional season.
