William Pitt Union and Litchfield Towers receive bomb threats

Pitt received bomb threats to the William Pitt Union and Litchfield Towers Wednesday… Pitt received bomb threats to the William Pitt Union and Litchfield Towers Wednesday night.

At around 11:15 p.m., Pitt evacuated the four buildings. The threats bring the total bomb threat count to 67.

The University sent out an Emergency Notification System alert around 11:20 p.m. notifying the campus of the threats. This is the first time the Union has received a bomb threat.

Wednesday morning at 4, Pitt evacuated five dorms, reopening the last about two and a half hours after the threats were received. Tuesday night, a bomb threat targeted Chancellor Mark Nordenberg’s Shadyside home.
