On February 13, the University received a bomb threat written on a bathroom wall in a women’s room in the Chevron Science Center.
Since then, the University has received 77 other threats, delivered from a variety of mediums, reaching as many as 12 in one day.
The threats have disrupted campus, as professors and students struggle to cope with each new evacuation order to dorms and academic buildings at all hours of the day and night.
The investigation now involves the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Joint Terrorism Task Force. Pitt has offered a reward of $50,000 for information leading to an arrest.
