Posvar Hall was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a small fire caused by construction workers.
Pitt spokesperson Kevin Zwick said the fire was caused by a dumpster on the building’s roof, and was under control at about 4:45 p.m.
Kannop Mitsantisuk, a staff member in the Katz Graduate School of Business, said he and others evacuated the building at about 4:30 p.m. When he left his office on the building’s second floor, he said he smelled smoke in the air.
“I think it smelled like smoke, fire smoke,” Mitsantisuk said.
Students, faculty and staff re-entered the building at around 5:10 p.m.
