Poetry | Winter in One Night

The night is cold and quiet

As a blanket covers the city

And suddenly there is a new climate

The world is soft and still

As the delicate flakes fall

Erasing the trees’ golden leaves with a chill

All at once the seasons change

And we are left to bask in the crisp air

And find the beauty in the strange

All at once, winter is upon us

It is time to feel cozy and warm

A change to be welcomed with little fuss

Bundle up and smile at the world

The stillness is comforting

And brings the feeling of a dream world

Now is the time to be merry and bright

To spread love and joy

And make warm the cold night
