Pitt student Silas Skiff died unexpectedly Monday afternoon in an Atwood Street residence, according to the County medical examiner’s office.
The 21-year-old student’s cause of death remains under investigation by the medical examiner’s office.
Pitt spokesperson Pat McMahon also confirmed Skiff’s passing in a statement.
“The University can confirm, with deep sorrow, the unexpected death of one of our students. City of Pittsburgh police have informed us there is no evidence of foul play,” McMahon said. “In the aftermath of such a tragedy, we are asking our Pitt community to keep the family and friends affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
