Police took an unidentified man into custody Thursday afternoon after a three hour standoff in… Police took an unidentified man into custody Thursday afternoon after a three-hour standoff in South Oakland.

SWAT cars, city police trucks, the city bomb squad and ambulances lined Dawson and Ward streets surrounding an apartment in the Holmes Place apartment complex.

After the man was taken into custody at around 3 p.m., various SWAT team members said they were not allowed to talk about what had happened.

City police did nto respond to requests for comment.
