The Pitt men’s basketball team squeezed past Rutgers Saturday night, winning 65-62 at the… The Pitt men’s basketball team squeezed past Rutgers Saturday night, winning 65-62 at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.

With the win Pitt improved to 20-2 (8-1 Big East) while the Scarlet Knights fell to 12-9 (3-6 Big East).

Ashton Gibbs led the Panthers with 24 points while Gary McGhee chipped in with 13 to go along with eight rebounds.

The Panthers have a week before their next game when they take on Cincinnati Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
