The Pitt News will cover the conference live on its Genac Attack blog.

Athletic Department officials would not previously comment on whether Wannstedt had been fired. Rumors circulated on Twitter and other news outlets throughout the day.

Today on Twitter, FearTheStache said, “Just heard word that Wanny is saying goodbye to the AD as we speak…Cignetti will be interim HC.”

Following a regular season where they underachieved, finishing 7-5, multiple sources are reporting that Wannstedt could be gone.
