Pitt issues notification on armed robbery

City police are investigating an armed robbery that in occurred in Oakland just after 5:30 p.m…. City police are investigating an armed robbery that in occurred in Oakland just after 5:30 p.m. yesterday.

A pair of victims told police they were approached on Pier Street by a black man who demanded money and showed the handle of a gun, according to a notification posted on the Pitt police website today.

The victims did not have any money and instead handed over their cell phones. The man then fled toward South Bouquet Street. The notification described his as beging in his 20s, 6 feet tall and heavyset and wearing a dark hat, black sweatshirt and diamond stud earrings.

The notification encouraged anyone with information to call city police 911 and reference CCR # 261336 or call Pitt police and reference report 10-02976.
