The accident, which happened at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Bellefield Avenue, involved one vehicle and a man who was crossing the street.

Two ambulances, a Pittsburgh fire truck and several police cars responded. Pitt police spokesman Ron Bennent said the individual was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and appeared to be in good condition.

“The injuries did not appear life threatening,” he said.

The first ambulance pulled away, sirens on, at about 12:40 p.m.

Police and EMS personnel could be seen speaking to two men on the east side of Bellefield Avenue for about 10 minutes after the accident.

Pittsburgh police officer Randy Carlson saw the accident. He said that the man was in the middle of crossing Bellefield Avenue when the turning light on Forbes Avenue changed.

The driver of the car turned onto Bellefield and struck the pedestrian, he said, noting that the driver had the right-of-way.

Carlson, and the other emergency responders, left the scene at just after 1 p.m.
