Baseball: Jordano inducted to Hall of Fame

A regional chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame has chosen to honor Pitt head… A regional chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame has chosen to honor Pitt head coach Joe Jordano.

The Metropolitan Erie Chapter of the Hall of Fame will induct Jordano and nine other people into its hall June 22.

The Erie native had a successful baseball career at Tech Memorial High School and helped his American Legion baseball team to a district championship and a third place finish in the state tournament.

He coached at Mercyhurst College for nine years before coming to Pitt. This year, he led the Panthers to their highest national ranking ever. He has 359 career wins for the University.
