Guide to grub in PNC Park

PNC Park, the home of the Pirates, is often praised for its incredible view of Pittsburgh and beautiful fireworks shows — earning itself a top ranking for MLB’s top ballparks. The ballpark also offers a diverse selection of eats for fans to enjoy. PNC Park captures the food identity of a city known for some of its eccentric food obsessions.

Pop’s Plaza

The newly introduced Renegade Dog is a classic footlong ballpark hot dog topped with several foods the Steel City is known for — pot roast, perogies, onions and pickles.

The fan-favorite food option was named after All-Star closer David Bednar’s walkout song, “Renegade.” Bednar picked his walkout song due to his love for the Steelers — who play “Renegade” by Styx before the fourth quarter of home games. The Renegade Dog is available in Section 133 in Pop’s Plaza.

Pop’s Plaza also features the Chickie & Pete’s stand. As written in their logo, the Philadelphia-based company offers “Famous Crabfries,” which are crinkle fries topped with crab seasoning and a cup of cheese dipping sauce on the side.

Local love

Another evolved hot dog offered in PNC Park is the Deli Dog, which is derived from Smallman Street Deli in the Strip District. One of the Deli Dogs is the Pitt Dog — a hot dog resting on a Martin’s Potato Roll with capicola, provolone cheese and vinegar slaw on top. The Pitt Dog is available in Section 135.

Chicken Pitt in Section 127 offers a chive bratwurst inside a Martin’s Potato Roll with peppers, onions and deli brown mustard called the “Cheddar and Chive Bratwurst.”

LowKey Taco is another local business that works with the Pirates. The taco company brings roasted corn on the cob, beef nachos and caramel-stuffed churros to Nachorita in Section 138.

Continuing the list of local business collaborations, Section 144 offers a Coop de Ville chicken biscuit with house pickles available at Chicken on the Hill.

PNC Park partnered with Caliente Pizza & Draft House in 2023, furthering the local love in the ballpark. Caliente offers gourmet pizza options in giant Sicilian, pepperoni and cheese styles. Caliente is found throughout the ballpark in Sections 113-114, 123, 304 and 313. Caliente also operates the Wings & Things stand next to the in-house Primanti Bros. where fans can get whole buckets of wings.

Speaking of Primanti’s, the true Pittsburgh classic is found in Section 108. For first-timers, every Primanti Bros. sandwich is topped with french fries, tomatoes and coleslaw. The Pitts-Burger is the classic, but there is no going wrong.

Left field hosts Manny’s BBQ, named after Pirates Hall of Fame catcher Manny Sanguillen, and offers Mrs. T’s pierogies topped with BBQ pork or chicken. The newly remodeled stand also offers mac ‘n’ cheese and coleslaw.

Dessert

For dessert, Cannonball Burger in Section 146 offers a sweet pierogi, a pierogi made with sweet cheese drizzled with chocolate sauce and powdered with sugar. The Cookie Sundae is a fan favorite found in Sections 106 and 119. Even though it is a simple cookie and ice cream combination, the mini Pirates batting helmet the sundae comes in boosts its appearance on social media.

Healthy options

Health-conscious fans may have a tough time at PNC Park, but hope is not lost. The Market, found in Section 118 behind home plate, offers grab-and-go salads and wraps.

Even when the Pirates are playing bad baseball, PNC Park visitors are guaranteed a quality eating experience. Locals have all their favorite restaurants offered in one location and visitors get an opportunity to understand why PNC Park is as renowned as it is.
