The Budget Committee of the Board of Trustees met Monday morning to vote on a resolution to endorse a $45 million budget for several previously approved building projects on Pitt’s main campus in Oakland, as well as on two other branches.

The Property and Facilities Committee of the Board of Trustees met Feb. 24 to approve eight building projects totaling nearly $46 million dollars. The projects included additional student rooms in Lothrop Hall, the replacement of air handling units in the Chevron Science Center’s Ashe Auditorium, the construction of a greenhouse in Langley Hall, the renovation of the ninth floor of the William Pitt Union, Bouquet Gardens Expansion Site preparation and utility extensions as well as other renovations.

The resolution also included a Smith Hall infrastructure upgrade project on the Greensburg Campus and upgrades for Fisher Hall at the Bradford Campus.

The resolution passed today recommended that $45 million in funding for these projects be approved by the Board of Trustees as part of the Fiscal Year 2010 Capital Budget. The Budget Committee had previously approved $1 million for the Lothrop Hall project.
