Students and professors can re-enter Biomedical Science Tower Three, which was evacuated earlier… Students and professors can re-enter Biomedical Science Tower Three, which was evacuated earlier this afternoon when a malfunctioning power panel began smoking.

Pitt spokesman John Fedele said no one was injured in the incident, which caused 50 people to evacuate the building.

He said the building’s universal power source panel began smoking but did not catch fire.

The building’s phone lines and data systems were restored about a half-hour ago.
