Weiler has played every minute of the Panthers first 12 games, during which they’ve gone 6-2-4. She’s also been an integral part of a defense that has recorded seven shutouts this season, a school record.

It’s the second time a member of the women’s soccer team has won a weekly award. Freshman Ashley Cuba was named Big East Rookie of the Week for the week starting Sept. 21.

Pitt’s next game is Friday night at Founders Field against St. John’s at 7 p.m.
