Pitt Police Blotter

Friday, Oct. 9

7:17 a.m. – An engineer accidentally tripped the fire alarm in the LIS Building.

8:57 a.m. – Police responded to a motor vehicle that hit and damaged bollards at the Cathedral of Learning.

1:24 p.m. – Police responded to a report that someone tried to use a counterfeit $50 bill at Rue 21.

5:18 p.m. – An employee leaving work for the day accidentally activated the burglar alarm in the Hillman Library Annex.

8:36 p.m. — Police cited student Lenin Dwain Rodriguez Spears, of 1817 Colony Drive, Wyomissing, Pa., for disorderly conduct and marijuana possession in Brackenridge Hall.

10:33 p.m. – Police responded to the theft of clothing from the laundry room in Lothrop Hall. An investigation is pending.

Saturday, Oct. 10

12:11 a.m. – Police cited student Cameron Hassanzadeh, of 402 Locust Lane, Danville, Pa., for an open container violation in the 300 block of Atwood Street.

12:16 a.m. – Police cited student Michael John McVeigh, of 1052 Huntingdon Road, Abington, Pa., for underage drinking in the lobby of Lothrop Hall.

1:37 a.m. – An officer checked construction near the Mascaro Center on University Drive after a mailbox was found knocked over. Nothing else was damaged and the area was secured.

10:47 a.m. – Pitt police assisted another police department with a report that a Pitt shuttle might have hit a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Craig Street. Officers cleared the incident.

11:55 p.m. – Police cited non-affiliate Jonathan Bissell, of 110 Temona Drive, for an open container violation at Oakland Avenue and Sennott Street.

Sunday, Oct. 11

12:04 a.m. – Police cited student Jamie M. Slebonick, of 965 Ruby Ave., Vero Beach, Fla., for an open container violation near Bouquet Gardens Building A.

12:18 a.m. – Police cited student Jaron Frank Paul, of 419 Selma St., for underage drinking in the third floor lounge of Litchfield Tower C.

12:33 a.m. – Police cited non-affiliate William Heuer III, of 45 Chapel Woods West, Williamsville, N.Y., for disorderly conduct at the intersection of Atwood and Louisa streets.

1:45 a.m. – Police cited a juvenile for disorderly conduct near Bouquet Gardens Building F.

1:53 a.m. – Police cited student Simone Michele Cheatham, of 4461 N. Kitley Ave., Indianapolis, Ind., for public drunkenness at Lothrop Hall.

4:04 a.m. – Police recovered a parking meter from the Schenley Quadrangle.

4:51 a.m. – Police responded to a report of four people skateboarding in the rear of the Cathedral of Learning near a construction area.

Monday, Oct. 12

12:47 a.m. – Police responded to a report that someone was punched in the face by a known person at the Sigma Chi fraternity house. An investigation is pending.

1:30 a.m. – Police received a report that a student tried to sign in people with IDs that did not belong to them.

Tuesday, Oct. 13

5:21 p.m. – Police responded to a report of the theft of cash and a bank card from a secured locker in the men’s locker room in the Petersen Events Center. An investigation is pending.

5:38 p.m. – A Sodexo manager told police money was missing from a safe in Posvar Hall. An investigation is pending.

8:32 p.m. – Police responded to a false fire alarm activation in Ruskin Hall. A burnt muffin triggered the alarm.

8:43 p.m. – Police arrested non-affiliate Oliver Jackson, of 5443 Jackson St., for loitering and prowling at night in the 3400 block of Dawson Street.

11:11 p.m. – Police responded to a robbery without weapons in front of the Wyndham Hotel in the 200 block of McKee Place. Two 200-pound, about 5-foot-10-inch white men in their 20s and a white woman in her 20s left in a pick-up truck. An investigation is pending.
