I’m writing this letter in embarrassment as a fan of the Pitt football team.
I find it ridiculous that so many of the so-called “fans” of our football team would boo one of our own players in a home game.
As a fan of any sport, I would think that it’s common decency not to boo and root against one of your own players. Is it even necessary to mention the name Bill Stull here?I think everyone knows who I am talking about.
I genuinely would like to apologize to Stull and the rest of the football team for the actions of our own fan base.
Any students who think about booing one of our own players should not be going to games.
Please, if you are going to boo one of our fellow students, stay at home and watch the game on TV.
If you don’t think that one of our players is doing well enough, I encourage you to go out for the team and do a better job.
