The most significant damage occurred at Maggie & Stella’s Cards & Gifts, in Sennott Square. The shop incurred more than $100,000 worth in flooddamage to the property and the stores wares, Pitt spokesman John Fedele said.
Water also flooded Thackeray Hall, destroying about 3,700 diplomas and damaging sump pumps, files, floor panels, drywall, carpet and computers. Fedele estimated that it would cost more than $20,000 to repair the damage to Thackeray Hall.
Flooding caused Hillman Library to be evacuated and led to an estimated $2,000 in damage. The rest of the damage was scattered throughout 38 buildings on campus.
