Seniors Porter, Duhart kicked off football team

As the result of suspensions from the football team this spring, senior wide receiver T.J. Porter and senior defensive tackle Tommie Duhart have left the Pitt football program. Both Porter and Duhart intend to transfer to other schools, according to a statement released by Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt.

The suspensions for both players came after separate incidents.

In February, Porter was arrested for driving under the influence. It was his second DUI within the span of a year. Porter, who started five games in 2008, finished last season third on the team with 25 catches for 357 yards.

Duhart’s recent suspension was the last in a series of other suspensions throughout his college career because of conflicts with the coaching staff and violations of team rules. Duhart started four games and appeared in 19 games in two seasons with the Panthers.
