Komen for the Cure, I extend my gratitude to the University of Pittsburgh student body for your remarkable support of Pink the Petersen on Saturday, Feb. 21. To see the Panthers in their pink uniforms and the sea of pink created by the Oakland Zoo spoke volumes about your commitment to the fight against breast cancer. Because of you, the Komen Pittsburgh Affiliate will be better able to help the women and men of our region whose lives are affected by breast cancer. Money raised from Pink the Petersen will fund education, screening, research and treatment programs in our area, including the Mammogram Voucher Program that provides mammograms to under-insured and uninsured members of the community. We hope to see you at the Race for the Cure in Schenley Park on Mother’s Day, May 10! Kathy Purcell, executive director Pittsburgh Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure
