Brown, who averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game last season, played in Pitt’s exhibition game against Seton Hill on Sunday night, but he had some recent issues with his foot. He’ll likely miss Pitt’s season opener against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 14, but he shouldn’t be out much longer. ‘It’s not going to be that serious,’ said the spokesman. ‘He’ll be back.’ Brown, who played 20 minutes in Sunday night’s game and scored nine points, started 15 games last season after a knee injury forced starting forward Mike Cook out of the lineup. He was competing for a starting position on the team this year. Also, starting point guard Levance Fields found out on Monday that his injured foot is healing nicely. He will continue practicing two days on, one day off.
