Yet the board manages to commemorate the anniversary of such a tragic event with a veiled political piece. The board manages to attack the Iraq War effort on two occasions, attacks Republican Rudy Giuliani and criticizes the Bush administration for the passage of unconstitutional legislation to limit civil liberties. Yet nowhere in the editorial is it mentioned that those brave men and women serving in uniform have been the ones responsible for preventing another attack on American soil. Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama have vastly different political views, yet they managed to put politics aside on this tragic day. It is a shame that the editorial board of The Pitt News wasn’t capable of putting country above politics, even on the anniversary of one of the darkest days in American history. Jesse J.
