“Robie made a good, heads-up play, faked the defender down and I was there for an easy one,” Morrow told ESPN.com.

The victory, which came in the eighth-longest game in NHL history, sends the Stars to the Western finals for the first time in seven years.

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Roger Clemons issued a statement apologizing for the mistakes he made in his personal life, but he still denies using personal enhancement drugs, according to ESPN.com.

“I know that many people want to know what I have to say about the recent articles in the media,” said Clemens in the statement to ESPN.com. “Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say that I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry. I have apologized to my family and apologize to my fans. Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right.”

Detroit Pistons’ guard Chauncey Billups was awarded the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award, given annually to an NBA player or coach for outstanding service and dedication to the community, according to NBA.com.

Billups, a 10-year veteran of the league, was recognized for work done in Denver, Colo. and Detroit, Mich.
