11:16 a.m. – A person was reported missing from the 5300 blocks of Fifth Avenue.

12:40 p.m. – A computer equipment room in Forbes Hall Pavilion was reported to be open.

2:33 p.m. – Three juveniles were given trespass warnings at the Petersen Events Center.

3:09 p.m. – A person reported an iPod and identification card stolen from his dorm room in Sutherland Hall.

4:39 p.m. – Non-affiliate Dynies Coogler, of 10198 Frankstown Road, Apt. 213, was arrested for presenting false identification to a police officer.

6:18 p.m. – Officers assisted Pittsburgh police with a car accident at Fifth Avenue and Robinson Street.

8:23 p.m. – A false fire alarm was pulled on the second floor of Bouquet Gardens Building D.

Friday, Dec. 14

3:39 a.m. – A person reported property damage and threats by his roommate in Litchfield Tower B.

9:42 a.m. – Officers assisted city police with a burglary in progress on the 3500 block of Louisa Street.

1:01 p.m. – A fire alarm was set off by construction in the Biomedical Science Tower 3.

1:02 p.m. – Two University shuttles were involved in an accident at Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.

2:39 p.m. – Non-affiliate Lawrence Harris, of 344 Elmore Square, was cited for aggressive panhandling at the corner of Forbes Avenue and Atwood Street.

3:58 p.m. – A person reported theft from his car in the Soldiers and Sailors parking garage.

9:06 p.m. – Non-affiliate Glenn Richmond, of 1368 Royal Oak Drive, Wexford, Pa., was cited for possession of an open container on the 3700 block of Forbes Avenue.

9:14 p.m. – Officers arrested a prowler in the 3500 block of Louisa Street.

10:01 p.m. – A person reported being harassed in the Victoria Garage. An investigation is pending.

Saturday, Dec. 15

2:18 a.m. – Police checked the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue for a man who was reported to have a gun.

3:06 a.m. – Student Joseph J. Normile, of 326 Glenside Ave, Glenside, Pa., was cited for public drunkenness in the Litchfield Towers lobby.

5:16 p.m. – A person fell in the Cathedral of Learning and declined medical assistance.

Sunday, Dec. 16

3:58 a.m. – An officer was reportedly exposed to an infectious disease at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and received precautionary treatment in the emergency room.

2:16 p.m. – A person reported damage to her car by moving carts at 190 Lothrop St.

Monday, Dec. 17

12:22 p.m. – Non-affiliate Derreck McLaughlin, of 8701 Frankstown Road, was cited for disorderly conduct on the 200 block of South Craig Street.

2:13 p.m. – A fire alarm was accidentally activated by a contractor in Biomedical Science Tower 3.

4:11 p.m. – People were stuck on an elevator at the Cathedral of Learning and consequently released.

Tuesday, Dec. 18

10:37 a.m. – A person reported receiving a disturbing e-mail. It was not found to be criminal in nature.

11:09 a.m. – A staff member reported unauthorized use of two offices in the Cathedral of Learning.

5:52 p.m. – Non-affiliate Anthony James Cercone, of 4003 Penn Ave., was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the corner of Center Avenue and Craig Street.

Wednesday, Dec. 19

2:24 a.m. – Officers responded to the report of a suspicious person on the 200 block of South Bouquet Street.

6:33 a.m. – An officer checked Sutherland hall for a smell of gas. The cause of the smell was found in the kitchen.

12:22 p.m. – Non-affiliate Cyril Andrew Ciongoli, of 242 Cibus Lane, Monroeville, Pa., was arrested for false documentation at a traffic stop on Forbes and Bellefield avenues.

6:46 p.m. – A staff member reported receiving harassing calls at home from a student.

Friday, Dec. 21

9:51 a.m. – A custodian turned over a syringe found in a utility closet at the Sigma Chi house. Police took the item to the hospital for disposal.

11:32 a.m. – The Mail Service Department in Pennsylvania Hall reported the theft of a package. An investigation is pending.

4:14 p.m. – Non-affiliate Eric Jeffrey Rankin, of 14 Wellsford Ave., was cited for defiant trespass in the Cathedral of Learning.

Saturday, Dec. 22

8:29 a.m. – Non-affiliate Harold Meltzer, homeless, was cited for defiant trespass in Posvar Hall.

11:41 p.m. – An officer found that a vending machine was jammed.

Sunday, Dec. 23

10:18 a.m. – Non-affiliate Harold Meltzer, homeless, was cited for defiant trespass in Posvar Hall.

4:16 p.m. – Four juveniles were given property warnings for unauthorized entry into Trees Hall.

5:53 p.m. – Officers assisted with an automobile accident at Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.

Monday, Dec. 24

5:34 p.m. – Non-affiliate Dynise Coogler, of 100198 Frankstown Road, Apt. 213, was cited for defiant trespass in Posvar Hall.

Tuesday, Dec. 25

12:44 a.m. – An officer found a section of Pennsylvania Hall roof material blown from the building. An engineer was notified.

7:06 a.m. – Officers responded to a burglary in the 300 block of Meyran Avenue.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

1:02 p.m. – Unclaimed property from January 2007 to June 2007 was cleared from the lost and found and disposed of.

7:07 p.m. – Non-affiliate Michael Shaughnessy, of 4796 Cypress St., was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Beaver County in the 300 block of Meyran Avenue.

10:06 p.m. – An officer checked people loading a car at Semple and Dawson streets.

Thursday, Dec. 27

6:06 a.m. – A water leak was found in Victoria Hall. An engineer was notified.

10:04 p.m. – A fire alarm in Salk Hall was activated by electrical problems.

Friday, Dec. 28

11:45 a.m. – Officers investigated a retail theft suspect in the 3400 block of Forbes Avenue.

Saturday, Dec. 29

4:39 a.m. – Non-affiliate Mark Anthony Allen, of 119 Orange Street, Durham, N.C., was arrested for defiant trespass in Detre Hall of Western Psychiatric hospital.

10:47 a.m. – Officers assisted Pittsburgh Medics with a reported walk-away from UPMC in the 300 block of Oakland Avenue.

11:35 a.m. – Non-affiliate Harold Meltzer, homeless, was cited for defiant trespass in Posvar Hall.

2:58 p.m. – Police responded to reported burglaries on the 300 block of Atwood Street.

10:16 p.m. – Non-affiliate Daryl Frascarelli, of 7487 Delmar Way, Swissvale, Pa., was cited for disorderly conduct at the corner of Forbes Avenue and Atwood Street.

Sunday, Dec. 30

7:07 p.m. – Police responded to a burglary at Zulema and Ward streets.

11:33 p.m. – An officer checked a door that was propped open in Parran Hall.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

11:53 a.m. – Police searched for a suspect who used a counterfeit bill in the 3400 block of Forbes Avenue.

3:07 p.m. – Police handled a pedestrian/vehicle accident at Fifth Avenue and Halket Street.

Thursday, Jan. 3

9:54 a.m. – Police responded to an industrial accident involving a steam line in the Litchfield Towers Garage. Those injured were transported to the hospital by Pittsburgh Medics.

6:00 p.m. – A store clerk reported the theft of a purse from a display at Maggie and Stella’s store on Oakland Avenue.
