Bonds, who broke baseball’s career home run record this past season, now faces, if convicted, a maximum of 30 years in prison.

Bonds is expected to turn himself in to authorities in San Francisco as early as Monday.

The New York Yankees and Alex Rodriguez have agreed in principle to a 10-year, record-setting contract worth $275 million, with the potential to earn millions more if he sets the career home run record, reported the Associated Press.

The deal comes after the Yankees said they would not re-sign the star third basemen after he opted out of the final three years of his previous record-setting contract, worth $252 million, after the World Series.

The deal was struck without the help of Rodriguez’s agent, Scott Boras.

After a loss to rival Ohio State Saturday, long-tenured Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr announced he will hold a press conference on Monday, at which he expects to announce his retirement, reported ESPN.com.

Carr, in 13 years at the Michigan helm, amassed a 121-40 record and an 81-23 record in the Big Ten.

He could never win the big game against Ohio State, however, going 1-6 over the past seven years.

A likely successor is LSU coach and Michigan alum Les Miles.

The Atlanta Braves and left-handed pitcher Tom Glavine have reportedly taken another step toward completing a one-year deal.

Glavine denied a $13-million player option from the Mets.
