Dixon’s new class includes guards Ashton Gibbs and Travon Woodall, forward Dwight Miller and wing Nasir Robinson.
Gibbs, Robinson and Woodall were Pitt’s initial three commits, but freshman Darnell Dodson’s transfer to Miami-Dade Community College opened up another scholarship, which Miller filled, but only after top-100 recruit Kevin Jones from Mt. Vernon, N.Y., chose West Virginia over Pitt.
Robinson is the highest-rated recruit of the class, ranked by Rivals.com as the 105th best high school senior in the country. The 6-foot-5-inch, 210-pound wing from Chester, Pa., was first-team all-state his junior year, averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Miller (6-8, 220) is the most intriguing of the bunch, having only played organized basketball for three years. He has been rated the nation’s No. 65 player by hoopscooponline.com.
