Fields was originally charged with one count each of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and disarming a police officer.

With his guilty plea, Fields will join a nine-month accelerated rehabilitative disposition program.

“We have let the judicial process run its course,” Pitt basketball coach Jamie Dixon said in a released statement. “Levance has been, and will continue to be, held to our team’s disciplinary standards.”

Dixon did not comment on any disciplinary measures the school, athletics department or team will take, if any are taken.

“Those disciplinary actions will remain within the confines of our program,” Dixon’s statement said.

Fields, a junior, was Tased by an off-duty police officer outside the Strip District nightclub Pure. According to the police affidavit, Fields allegedly attempted to grab the officer’s weapon following a verbal argument.

Fields agreed to 50 hours of community service and will enter the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program on Oct. 26, the Tribune-Review reported. If he completes both programs, all charges will be dropped.
