The San Diego Chargers moved their practices to the Arizona Cardinals’ suburban practice… The San Diego Chargers moved their practices to the Arizona Cardinals’ suburban practice facilities in the wake of the wildfires in southern California, the Associated Press reported last night.
The Chargers will have three days of practice and sleeping in hotels in Arizona before their scheduled game against the Houston Texas on Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
“How we handle that will have an impact on how it turns out on Sunday,” Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers told the AP.
Authorities evacuated some 40 Chargers coaches, players and staff members because of the wildfires. The NFL is considering several options, including moving the game to another stadium. One of the choices, Houston’s Reliant Stadium, would mean that San Diego would technically be the home team.
Other options could be playing the game in Los Angeles, Dallas or Tempe, Ariz. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has met with Chargers president Dean Spanos this week.
