At last evening’s Student Government Board meeting President Shady Henien announced that… At last evening’s Student Government Board meeting President Shady Henien announced that board member Joshua Carl has officially resigned from his position in SGB.
Carl, who could not be reached for comment, has not replied to phone calls or e-mails from his fellow board members since the end of July.
“Carl was an excellent board member,” Henien said. “He helped the board out a lot. I wish him the best of luck in the future.”
Henien said he did not know what caused Carl’s resignation which, according to board member James Priestas, was “very unexpected.”
Despite Carl’s sudden withdrawal, SGB intends to move forward. It plans to fill Carl’s vacancy by Sept. 25. The board will accept applications and, after reviewing the candidates, will appoint a new board member by a simple majority vote.
“We’ll take the best applicant. This isn’t an easy job,” Henien said. “We want the best person up here.”
The Giant Eagle shuttle project-which Carl had been working on with Henien-will continue, with Priestas acting in Carl’s stead.
