The… Yesterday, the Pitt women’s basketball team released its complete 2007-08 schedule.

The Panthers will play Duke, Maryland, Rutgers and UConn – four of the top six preseason ranked teams.

“Our non-conference schedule is about as tough as you can get,” Pitt head coach Agnus Berenato said yesterday in a press release. “When you couple that with the outstanding play of the Big East, there will be a lot of exciting basketball for us this season.”?

Pitt plays both of its non-conference preseason-top-six opponents away from home, at Maryland Nov. 27 and vs. Duke in New York Dec. 8.

The Panthers get both Rutgers and UConn, Big East preseason-top-six opponents, at home at the Petersen Events Center – Rutgers Feb. 2 and UConn Feb. 17.

Pitt begins its season against Charlotte Nov. 9 at the WBCA Classic in State College.

The Big East Tournament is scheduled March 8 to 11 in Hartford, Conn., and the NCAA Tournament will begin March 22.
